Garlic Mashed Potatoes Ingredients
* 6 large potatoes* 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/3 cup onion, chopped fine
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* salt and pepper to taste
Directions
1. Peel potatoes and cut into quarters.2. Place 1/2 tablespoon salt in a large pot of water and bring to a boil.
2. Add potatoes and cook until tender.
3. Place butter in 1/2 cup milk and heat in microwave until butter melts
4. Place potatoes in a large bowl and mash with a potato masher until broken into small pieces.
5. Add milk/butter mixture a little at a time while mashing potatoes until desired consistency is obtained.
6. Add garlic and onion while continuing to stir.
7. Taste and add salt and pepper as desired.
Note: You may use more or less of the 1/2 cup milk according to the consistency you like. Some people like chunky potatoes and some like milky smooth.
Note 2: The potatoes will get cold very fast so have everything else ready when you complete the potatoes. Serve hot.
